Installation Producer

Digital Photo Slide Show also includes a new Installation Producer that allows you to create an installation program for your slide show. This simple utility lets you create a custom executable setup file (setup.exe) that contains your photos and Digital Photo Slide Show & Screen Saver. Send the setup program to friends and family so they can install your slide show and screen saver on their PC.

The process of creating an installation program for your slide show is simple. Complete all the fields and click the Create Setup button. The utility creates the installation program (setup.exe) automatically and is stored in the Output Folder. Each of the fields are described below.

Picture Folder - Click the folder icon to browse your hard drive and select the root folder where you photos reside. Remember that Slide Show and Screen Saver display all image files in the folder specified and all sub-folders. For example, in the directory structure to the left, if you select the folder "DoorCounty", Slide Show will display all images in all of the folders that start with "August" in addition to the "DoorCounty" folder.

Slide Show Title - Enter the title of your slide show here. It will be displayed during the installation process. The title is also used as the name for the slide show and screen saver. In the example below, the screen saver will be named "Door County Family Vacation 2000" as will the slide show icon.

Start Menu Group Name - Enter the name of the menu item you want displayed in the Start Menu. After installation, icons will be displayed on the desktop and also within the Start Menu. This field defines the name of the menu item in the start menu.

Output Folder - This field determines where the setup program file(s) will be placed after it is created.

For Diskettes - Check this box if you want to create multiple setup files that will fit on floppy diskettes. If you want a single file (setup.exe) do not check this box. If you create multiple files, copy "setup.exe" and "setup.1" to the first diskette. Copy the remaining files to the remaining diskettes. Execute setup.exe from the first diskette to start the installation. Insert the rest of the diskettes as requested.

Time in Seconds Between Photos - Use your mouse to drag the track bar to change the delay in seconds between each photo displayed.

The Installation Producer utility creates an installation script that is read by Inno Setup and My Inno Setup Extensions which create in installation program. These installers are some of the best freeware available. Thanks to Jordan Russell and Martijn Laan.
